Quit Smoking With Meditation
With 2015 just a matter of weeks away, now is the perfect time to think about what new year’s resolutions you can come up with – and if you’re a smoker, it might be a good time to consider taking meditation courses to help you quit.
Meditation has helped many people quit in the past so there’s no reason to think it won’t work for you. If you’re struggling to give up and have exhausted all the other avenues, why not do a bit of research to see how it has benefited other smokers and made it easier for them to ditch the cigs?
What´s more FISU has a specific “quit smoking” technique that many people have found very effective in firstly, cutting down and then quitting.
The practice can really help you to reconnect with your body and become more aware of yourself and the present moment. Often, people use cigarettes as a way of managing stress and negative experiences, but meditation and mindfulness can have exactly the same results – without being damaging to your health.
You need to find a way to relax yourself completely without the aid of a smoke and meditation is perfect for that. Start practising for just 20 to 30 minutes twice a day and you’ll soon begin to feel differently – before you know it, you won’t even need that pack of Marlboros sitting in your bag or burning a hole in your back pocket.
Given how bad smoking is for you, you should perhaps try and do all you can to quit – and the start of a new year is a brilliant time for making positive life changes.
