The job of the guru is to help us by giving special meditation techniques and spiritual practices that re-pattern the whole thinking process that we have in the mind that can be easily re-patterned.
It does not require great conscious effort; it just requires dipping the bucket in the well and drawing up that fresh, invigorating water – the pure energies that reside within. And, then to bathe in it, to dip deep within ourselves and draw forth that energy that will still all these turbulences, that in turn will erase all this wrong patterning.
If the mind can be patterned, it can be unpatterned, and it can be re-patterned.
The purpose of meditation is to live as a self-integrated being, and being self-integrated one can perform daily actions with a greater dynamism – with greater vitality, and as we become in harmony with everything around us, we automatically become loving, and when we become loving, we become loveable too.
